This first video is what brought us all together. Every single one of us had a desire to protect our families and to help teach and lead others to a state of readiness. We took our fears and did something about it. We have shared our knowledge, hopes and fears and have accomplished so much together as Americans. We do NOT give a dang tootin' where you sit politically, what color your skin is, who you share your bed with or how many cats you have. If you are an American, we need you! We are one nation under GOD and INDIVISABLE! If Lisa, strikes a chord in your soul come be a part of WE THE PEOPLE LIBERTY AND JUSTICE! Please note we are peaceful, law-abiding citizens of the great REPUBLIC!

Our Adventures Together
In late September 2024, when Hurricane Helene devastated Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, WTPLAJ quickly sprang into action. Within just five days, our boots were on the ground, ready to support those affected by the storm and tackle the hard work ahead.
Our members immediately teamed up with Cajun Navy volunteers to deliver emergency supplies to those in need. Using Black Mountain as a staging area, we expanded our efforts throughout the region, establishing a forward operating base in Bakersville. Working closely with the mayor and town council, we provided immediate assistance to the community. WTPLAJ volunteers also collaborated with National Guard units and Gateway Relief in Spruce Pine, joining forces with veteran groups, many of which were branches of the Cajun Navy.
Over the course of nearly three months, what eventually grew to 50 WTPLAJ volunteers dedicated their time and resources to helping our fellow Americans in Western North Carolina. Volunteers set up a temporary base camp, complete with a kitchen and bathroom, ensuring that essential living necessities were met for those on the ground. We put our own lives on hold, working tirelessly while also processing and coordinating volunteers who came from across the country. Volunteers arrived from states like Maine, Kansas, Florida, and New Jersey, eager to make a difference.
In the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, WTPLAJ volunteers focused on the most urgent needs: cutting people out of their homes, removing mud and debris, and delivering essential items like food, blankets, and other necessities to those who had lost everything. We also organized multiple supply convoys from across the country to bring in critical resources to support our relief efforts.
One of our most significant contributions was the installation of a GMRS radio repeater with a solar charger near Bakersville. This essential communication tool enabled residents to stay connected in the wake of the storm.
After 82 days of dedicated service, our mission shifted from immediate relief to long-term recovery. In the spirit of giving, we distributed nearly 1,000 Christmas gifts to children in the Mitchell County foster care system, ensuring that the holiday season was a little brighter for those who were vulnerable even before the hurricane struck.
WTPLAJ’s unwavering commitment to providing hands-on, compassionate relief during one of the region's most challenging times is a testament to the power of community and the willingness to serve. We are proud to have made a lasting impact and will continue to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in the months ahead.
